Greene County is in the north central portion of Virginia, at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Skyline Drive.

 

The County is accessible from Interstate 64 to the south, Interstate 66 the north, and Interstate 81 to the west.

 

It is located approximately 100 miles southwest of Washington DC; 20 miles north of downtown Charlottesville on 29 and 90 miles west of Richmond on US33.

 

The reenactment site is located 5 miles east of Stanardsville on US 33 (Spotswood Trail) and 1 1/2 miles west of Ruckersville
